I live in Manhattan on just my social security. I rent a room in a small apartment in a public housing development on the lower east side of New York. Though it may be modest - it is a room with a view.

The photographs are taken looking west across the street from the Manhattan Bridge as it comes into Manhattan - bisecting on a horizontal plane - my view of lower Manhattan. Above, are buildings of immense wealth and power; Wall Street, City Hall as well as Federal, State and City Courts. Below, is the Coleman Skateboard Park and the surrounding un-gentrified lower east side neighborhood. It is a pronounced contrast both architecturally and socially.
